Ukraine and
Vietnam can reach much better results in all-embracing cooperation and
partnership. Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made
this statement, meeting Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of the Socialist
Republic of Vietnam.
V.Lytvyn declared that Vietnam is a special partner of Ukraine in the region of Southeast Asia. "It is due to the long-lasting development of close political, economic and cultural connections between the countries, and a great potential of all-embracing cooperation," he said, recollecting the official visit of the Ukrainian delegation to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in December 2010. V. Lytvyn stated that visit of President of Ukraine V. Yanukovych to Vietnam became a milestone in the bilateral relations. "Your visit to Ukraine is highly appreciated," stated the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament.
Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, is satisfied with the visit to Ukraine. He stressed, "The goal of my visit is to discuss and implement the agreements in the investment, economic, and other sectors." "We think that current results do not meet the existing capacities," he declared.
The Parties agreed that Ukraine and Vietnam can implement common projects in power engineering, machine building, aircraft industry, ship building, agriculture, trade, and humanitarian sector. V. Lytvyn expects that the Intergovernmental panel will develop specific proposals concerning cooperation in the said spheres, while Ukrainian parliament will provide due legislative support. "Sittings of the Intergovernmental panel will develop a clear-cut action plan," V. Lytvyn said. He attaches great importance to the role of Ukrainian and Vietnamese parliaments in the support of a bilateral political dialogue.
V. Lytvyn suggested establishing students´ exchange programs.
The Parties called for development of Ukrainian-Vietnamese relations in the matters of foreign policy and mutual support in the international organizations.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine congratulated the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on re-election to the major post in July 2011. He invited the President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to visit Ukraine at his convenience.
